The NLMK Group was currently undergoing vertical integration to build a new improvement plant in Stoilensky. Iron ore production will be sent to NLMK Lipetsk or supplied to the Pelletizing Plant.
NLMK Group said the new plant's breakthrough technology will not only increase production and reduce costs, but can also increase the iron content in the ore.
The three new milling lines (vertical mills) will allow the company to increase its concentrated production from 17.5 mtpa to 20 mtpa and increase its ore processing capacity from 37 mt to 42 mt by 2020, thereby increasing the production of iron ore raw materials for NLMK.
Construction plans will be completed by 2020. It was expected to increase 14% of iron ore raw materials for the NLMK.
NLMK Group Vice President Konstantin Lagutin said the following about the Investment Projects:
"Continuous improvement of production processes is among the strategic priorities of the NLMK Group. Vertical mills are a breakthrough technology in raw material processing. They are known for their low energy and grinding body consumption rates, high reliability and smaller scope of construction work compared to conventional ball mills. The benefits of using these factories in Stoilensky will be doubled, we will increase production quantities and reduce costs. In addition, the Fe content in the ore will increase to 68%."
