At the industrial site in Dortyol, the plant's specialists launched an electric steel-smelting shop with a casting and rolling module on March 31. By April 1, they had already produced 3,000 tons of hot-rolled coil.
It is anticipated that the plant's output will be used to rebuild earthquake-damaged areas, providing MMK metal for the building industry to build new housing and infrastructure as well as for the local machine-building industry to produce equipment required for the current situation.
A continuous pickling unit and a reversing rolling mill were both put into operation on February 20.
A cold rolling mill, a continuous hot dip galvanizing and polymer coating plant, an electric steelmaking shop with a casting and rolling module, and a metal service center are all part of MMK Metalurji. The plant has a 2.3 million ton design capacity. The plant itself, the controlling shareholder, and the MMK Metalurji were all listed on the SDN List last summer. Before the end of January this year, OFAC granted MMK Metalurji a license to cease business operations.
