In May 2023, Mexico's wire rod production fell by 19.7% y-o-y to around 233,000 tons. This represents the fifth consecutive decrease.
The country's apparent steel consumption fell by 5.4% y-o-y to around 246,000 tons. In the same month, Mexico's wire rod exports fell by 87.8% to 5,000 tons.
