Lundin Mining signed an agreement with JX Nippon Mining & Metals Corp to acquire a 51% share in Lumina Copper, which operates the Caserones copper-molybdenum mine in Chile.
Canada's Lundin Mining Corp has announced that it will buy a majority share in Chile's Caserones copper mine for about $950 million.
Under the agreement, Lundin Mining will have the right to make an prepayment of $800 million to JX Nippon Mining & Metals Corp, a six-year installments of $150 million, and the right to acquire an incremental share of 19% for $350 million over five years.
