According to the announcement made by London Metal Exchange (LME) on Friday, November 11; Any ban covering aluminum, nickel and other Russian metals will not be enforced. In order to ensure the stability of the supply and demand of metals in the market, it was decided not to impose a ban. LME said in a statement that there are those who are planning to buy metal from Russia in 2023.
Although Western countries began to impose sanctions on Russia after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the LME emphasized that moral judgments should not be included in the wider market. Although there were requests from various manufacturers that Russian metals should be banned, this demand was not fulfilled.
