Japan's ferrous scrap exports increased in May

According to statistics, Japan's ferrous scrap exports rose on a monthly and y-o-y basis in May this year.

In May 2023, Japan's ferrous scrap exports amounted to about 592,000 tons, up by 5.7% from April and 5.2% from May 2022.

Exports to South Korea totaled about 240,300 tons, to Taiwan about 96,400 tons, and to Vietnam about 98,800 tons.

In the first five months of 2023, Japan's ferrous scrap exports increased by 6.5% y-o-y to 2.83 million tons.
