At the end of October this year, Italian metallurgical enterprises reduced their steel production volumes by 1.4% compared to the previous month to 1.93 million tons, according to Federacii, the association of Italian steelmakers. In October this year, compared to October last year, Italian metallurgical companies reduced steel production by 4.4%.
In October 2023, flat product production in the country increased by 10.1% compared to October 2022 to 904 thousand tons. Long products production, on the other hand, decreased by 1.4% y-o-y to 1.09 million tons.
According to the results for January-October 2023, Italy reduced its steel production by 3.4% compared to the same period in 2022 to 17.87 million tons. In particular, flat product production decreased by 1.4% y-o-y to 8.064 million tons and long product production by 3.7% y-o-y to 9.87 million tons.
