İsdemir launched its new investment worth 79.5 million dollars

İsdemir, one of the leading companies of the Türkiye heavy industry, commissioned its new investment, the Vacuum Degassing Facility (Twin type RH-OB), which it has implemented in line with this goal, at a ceremony held yesterday. İsdemir made an investment of 79 million 500 thousand dollars for the facility with a production capacity of 1 million 200 thousand tons/year.

Construction work has begun for the facility, which has been tested with simulation studies to enable the production of high-quality clean steel. In order to determine the most suitable location for the facility where high quality clean steel will be produced, steps were taken such as evacuating the Tundish Maintenance and Preparation Facility and establishing a new facility in another region. Afterwards, the construction of the Vacuum Degassing Facility Investment Project started.

Hot tests, which are another important phase of the project, started as of March 25, 2024, at the RH-2 Station of the project, in which Erdemir Engineering is involved with all departments, and 30 castings have been carried out at the station to date. At RH-1 Station, where cold tests continue, production is planned to start in June this year after the tests are completed. With the full capacity commissioning of the Twin Type Degassing (RH-OB) Facility, İsdemir will add various grades of high-end steel to its product portfolio.
