Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that maritime traffic will be maintained safely during the ceasefire in coordination with the Iranian military.
In his statement, Araghchi remarked, "Safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be possible throughout the ceasefire, in coordination with the Iranian military."
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that bombing raids and attacks on Iran have been suspended for two weeks. Trump noted that this period would be utilized to finalize a permanent peace agreement.
Emphasizing that the ceasefire would be "reciprocal" in a statement made via social media, Trump highlighted that significant progress has been made in the negotiations with Iran. "I am agreeing to suspend bombing and attacks on Iran for a two-week period," Trump stated. "This timeframe will allow for the finalization of an agreement."
The restoration of safe passage in the Strait of Hormuz, which is of critical importance to global energy and trade, is being closely monitored by the markets.
