Iran commodity exchange witnesses shifts in steel chain transactions for September

According to buyers' behavior at the Iran Commodity Exchange reveals that colored sheets had the highest transaction volume to supply ratio in the iron and steel chain during September , marking a 52 percentage point increase compared to August. In August, only 48% of the supply for colored sheets was traded, but in September, the entire supply was traded. However, it's important to note that the supply volume in September also decreased by 68% compared to August.

In September of this year, CRC had a ratio of 92%, while HRC had a ratio of 78%. The transaction volume-to-supply ratio for CRC increased by 11 percentage points compared to August. Another significant observation in the analysis of steel chain transactions is the rise in the transaction volume-to-supply ratio for steel corners and studs, which increased from 41% in August to 76% in September, a growth of approximately 35 percentage points. It appears that these purchases were primarily made for export purposes and to capitalize on exchange rate differences within the Commodity and Export Exchange, likely due to the non-implementation of the Commodity Exchange and Customs systems integration.

The index for the transaction volume-to-supply ratio of rebar continues to decline, with only 13% of the supply of this product being involved in transactions. Rebar now ranks second, after iron ore, in having the lowest transaction volume-to-supply ratio in the steel chain. In August, this index stood at 19%.
