KLW, a steel and railway products manufacturer operating under Ukraine-based Interpipe, supplied 850 mm diameter railway wheels for Türkiye's high-speed train (YHT) lines.

Interpipe supplied 850 mm train wheels for high-speed trains in Türkiye

According to the company’s statement, ER8 steel classified as Category 1, specially designed for high-speed train applications, was used as part of the shipment. During the production process, precise control of the wheel rim hardness range was of critical importance to ensure both high-speed performance and compliance with international quality standards.

Inna Shevtsova, Sales Manager for Africa and Asia Railway Products at KLW, stated that the company aims to expand its presence in the passenger train wheel market, noting that this segment requires higher technology and more complex certification processes compared to freight transportation. She emphasized that each passenger train has its own unique wheel design and that national railway operators apply different standards. She added that the deliveries to the YHT line will strengthen the company’s position in Türkiye and in the high-speed train segment across the region.

KLW has previously supplied wheels for metro systems and passenger trains in various countries, including the United States, Thailand, Hungary, and the Netherlands. Leveraging its expertise in the high-speed train segment, the company continues to reinforce its position as a global supplier to railway operators.
