Inflation in october remained below expectations

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TSI) released the consumer price index (CPI) data for October 2025. According to the data, inflation in October was below market expectations.

Inflation in october remained below expectations

Economists expect monthly inflation to be 2.83% and annual inflation to be 33.20% in October. However, according to TÜİK systems, CPI increased by 2.55% monthly and 32.87% annually. The rates of 3.23% monthly and 33.29% annually in the September 2025 period have declined slightly in October.

The consumer price index increased by 28.63% compared to December of the previous year and by 37.15% on a two month average.

A high and annual increase was observed in some of the main expenditures. Increases of 34.87% in food and non-alcoholic beverages, 27.33% in distribution, and 50.96% in housing were recorded. These contributed 8.44%, 4.34%, and 7.75% to daily inflation, respectively.

On a monthly basis, food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 3.41%, transportation by 1.07%, and housing by 2.66%. The impact of these items on monthly inflation was calculated as 0.83%, 0.16%, and 0.45%, respectively.

According to TÜİK data, 18 of the 143 basic items in the index decreased , 7 remained unchanged , and 118 basic items increased .
