Economists expect monthly inflation to be 2.83% and annual inflation to be 33.20% in October. However, according to TÜİK systems, CPI increased by 2.55% monthly and 32.87% annually. The rates of 3.23% monthly and 33.29% annually in the September 2025 period have declined slightly in October.
The consumer price index increased by 28.63% compared to December of the previous year and by 37.15% on a two month average.
A high and annual increase was observed in some of the main expenditures. Increases of 34.87% in food and non-alcoholic beverages, 27.33% in distribution, and 50.96% in housing were recorded. These contributed 8.44%, 4.34%, and 7.75% to daily inflation, respectively.
On a monthly basis, food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 3.41%, transportation by 1.07%, and housing by 2.66%. The impact of these items on monthly inflation was calculated as 0.83%, 0.16%, and 0.45%, respectively.
According to TÜİK data, 18 of the 143 basic items in the index decreased , 7 remained unchanged , and 118 basic items increased .
