Industrial production index increased by 1.1 percent y-o-y

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) published the industrial production index data for January.

According to these data, calendar adjusted industrial production increased by 1.1 percent in January compared to the same month of the previous year.

When evaluated on the basis of sub-sectors of industry, compared to the same month of the previous year, mining and quarrying sector index increased by 4.9 percent, manufacturing industry sector index increased by 0.4 percent, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution sector index increased by 8.4 percent in January. The unadjusted industrial production index also increased by 1.51 percent annually.

In January, seasonally and calendar adjusted industrial production remained unchanged compared to the previous month.

Analyzing the sub-sectors of industry in January, the index for the manufacturing industry sector decreased by 0.6 percent, while the index for the mining and quarrying sector increased by 4.3 percent, and the index for the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution sector increased by 4.6 percent.
