India decided to oppose the CBAM decision at the World Trade Organization. Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal stated that India plans to oppose the implementation of the European Union's Border Carbon Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) within the framework of the World Trade Organization.
In addition, Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal called on other similar countries like India not to accept these unequal tax systems.
Goyal emphasized that the CBAM application in question will not yield positive results for India and explained that it may have an impact on various products exported to the EU region, including steel.
Also expressing the importance of globalization, Goyal said that India will not approve such unfair practices.
