Imports of hot-rolled flat steel in the USA amounted to about 137,000 tons in January this year, increased by 3.6% from December 2022. Compared to January 2022, it decreased by 50%.
Imports from Canada amounted to about 84,000 tons, an increase of 7.4% m-o-m and a decrease of 30.9% y-o-y, to Japan about 22,000 tons, to Mexico to about 13,000 tons, to South Korea to about 7,200 tons, and to Germany to about 6,300 tons.
Import value increased by 2.2% m-o-m and decreased by 71.8% y-o-y to approximately USD 109 million.
