American Nucor Corporation: Nothing can stop the demand for steel in the US.

According to the statement of John Ferriola, the President of American Nucor Corporation, at the 53rd Annual World Steel Conference held in Monterrey, Mexico, there are many issues causing uncertainty in the steel market, which is contributing to the complex situation in the US.

Ferriola acknowledged that there are currently many problems triggering a pessimistic mood in the US, but he believed that the general market demand in many sectors in the US is still strengthening, with a strong demand compared to 2015 and 2016, although not as strong as in 2018.

Ferriola also mentioned infrastructure issues, pointing out that the US is facing a terrible infrastructure problem where approximately 10% of the total 550,000 bridges in the US have safety concerns.
