The factory increased list selling prices by USD36-37/ton in the latest domestic hot rolled coil price allocations on May 2.
The company's offers for hot rolled coil of SAE1006 or SS400 quality, scheduled for delivery in July, were set at around USD577/ton CFR South Vietnam equivalent, excluding VAT.
A trader from Hanoi mentioned that Vietnamese users and re-rollers would accept the latest prices. This is due to rival Formosa Ha Tinh pricing its hot rolled coil for June/July shipments at nearly the same price level as mid-March. Formosa's officially set price range varies between USD575-591/ton CFR Vietnam.
Meanwhile, despite the Labor Day holiday in China, some suppliers are offering low tonnage positions of 3-12 mm thickness Q235 hot rolled coil at USD532-535/ton CFR Vietnam level. These offers are not drawing much attention among Vietnamese traders due to their small volume.
