The facility, which previously operated under the name Vallourec Bearing Tubes Montbard, was reported to have been idled in 2025.
Known as one of the key centers of the historic Mannesmann seamless pipe technology, the plant is equipped with original machinery supplied by FIVES DMS Montbard and SMS Mannesmann Meer. With an annual production capacity of approximately 80,000 tons, the facility produces hot- and cold-rolled seamless pipes for applications in the automotive, bearing steel, oil and gas, and industrial sectors.
The Montbard plant features an integrated production structure, covering the entire process from round billet to finished pipe. The hot rolling line includes a Stiefel-type piercing mill and an Assel-type elongation system, while the cold finishing section is equipped with seven cold pilger mills manufactured by Mannesmann Meer and DMS Montbard.
Hilco Industrial, which provides services worldwide in the sale, restructuring, and asset management of industrial facilities, is well known for its work in the redeployment and repurposing of large-scale industrial assets such as this plant.
