In September this year, Southeast European crude steel production, which decreased compared to September of last year, remained almost constant on an annual basis at 3.63 million tons in the January-September period.
As the largest steel producer among the seven Southeast European countries, Serbia's crude steel production increased 18.6% to 1.36 million tons in the January-September period.
Annual crude steel output of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the second largest producer in the region, remained almost flat, while the third largest producer, Slovenia, fell 7.8% in nine months production. It was observed that the production of Bulgaria, which came in fourth place, remained stable. When looking at the production of Moldova, it is seen that there is a decrease of 0.9% annually, while the production of North Macedonia decreased by 5.7% in the January-September 2021 period. Coming in seventh place, Croatia's production remained stable at 126,607 tons on an annual basis.
