Volkswagen Group, which includes the Audi, Bugatti, Seat, Skoda, and Porsche brands, has released its vehicle delivery figures for the third quarter and the January–September period.
According to this, Volkswagen Group’s global vehicle sales increased by 1.2% in the January September period compared to the same period last year, reaching 6 million 524 thousand 400.
During this period, vehicle sales of the group’s main brand, Volkswagen, increased by 2.8% to 3,492,500 units.
The German manufacturer’s electric vehicle sales in the first 9 months of the year increased by 42% compared to the same period last year, reaching 717,500.
Vehicle deliveries in China, the Wolfsburg based company’s largest market, decreased by 4% to 1.974 million during the period in question.
In the third quarter, Volkswagen Group’s vehicle sales increased by 1% to 2.198 million units in the July September period compared to the same period last year. During the same period, the group’s main brand, Volkswagen, saw 0.4% decrease in vehicle sales to 1.172 million units.
The group sold 9.8% fewer new vehicles in North America due to increasing U.S. import tariffs.
Volkswagen Group’s sales in China continued to struggle amid fierce price competition with local electric vehicle suppliers. In the third quarter, the group’s sales in China decreased 7.2% to 660,300 units.
