Vietnamese companies have initiated an anti-circumvention investigation on hot-rolled steel originating from China

The application has been officially accepted by the Trade Defense Office. The Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade will decide within 45 days from the official acceptance date whether to initiate a case.

On July 26, 2024, Vietnam launched an anti-dumping investigation on hot-rolled coils originating from China and India. On July 4, 2025, Vietnam issued a final positive decision for Chinese products, imposing anti-dumping duties ranging from 23.10% to 27.83% effective from July 6, 2025. Meanwhile, a negative decision was made for Indian products, meaning no anti-dumping duties were applied, and the investigation was closed.

Price commitments submitted by Chinese companies for the products in question were rejected by Vietnam.
