Vallourec will supply pipes for the Orca project in Brazil

French steel pipe manufacturer Vallourec has signed a critical agreement with TechnipFMC for Shell Brasil’s Orca offshore project in the Santos Basin. Under the agreement, Vallourec will supply more than 20,000 tons of non welded steel pipes.

The supply will cover pipes made of high-quality carbon steel, to be used for flowlines and subsea lifting systems. The pipes will also be delivered with coating and thermal insulation services for corrosion protection. Manufacturing and processing will take place at the company’s facilities in Brazil, supporting Vallourec’s strategy to strengthen its position as a local supplier for subsea solutions.

Following its acquisition of Thermotite do Brasil, Vallourec has not only expanded its pipe supply capabilities but also enhanced its capacity to offer integrated services. This agreement marks the first project post-integration where thermal insulation and specialized coating services are provided by a single supplier. Thanks to industrial synergies, Vallourec will be able to respond more rapidly to technical challenges in offshore environments.

Vallourec, which continuously directs its investments to Brazil, is solidifying its position as a strategic partner and a provider of advanced technology solutions by collaborating with TechnipFMC and Shell on a large scale offshore development project like the Orca project.
