According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), USA imports of flat steel, semi-finished products, pipes and sections and long products in 2024 decreased by 7.5% y-o-y.
Imports of 34,238 tons for the four product groups in 2023 decreased to 31,639.09 tons in 2024.
Flat steel was imported the most
In 2024, flat steel was the most imported product group by the USA. This product group was imported the most in May with 1,012,065 tons and the least in November with 742,661 tons.
Semi-finished products volatility
USA imports of semi-finished products in 2024 fluctuated throughout the year. There were notable decreases and increases on a yearly basis. The largest decline was recorded in March, when imports decreased from 646,000 tons in February to 447,657 tons in March. The highest increase was recorded when 447,657 tons in March increased to 629,380 tons in April.
