According to data released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), U.S. steel mill shipments in February 2026 increased by 5.1% year-on-year to 7,395,507 net tons. In February of the previous year, the figure was 7,035,936 net tons.
February shipments declined by 2.5% compared to January 2026, when they stood at 7,583,826 net tons.
Total shipments for the first two months of the year reached 14,979,333 net tons, representing a 3.5% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
By product category, shipments of corrosion-resistant sheet and strip rose 10% year-on-year in the first two months of 2026, while hot-rolled sheet and strip shipments increased by 9%. In contrast, cold-rolled sheet and strip shipments declined by 8%.
