The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that U.S. steel mills shipped 7,692,319 net tons in October, marking a 9.2% increase compared to the same month last year. However, this figure represents a 4.2% decrease compared to the 8,032,536 net tons shipped in September.
Total shipments for the January-October period increased by 5.1% compared to the same period last year, rising from 72,731,187 net tons to 76,425,069 net tons.
When evaluated by product, heat-resistant sheet and strip showed a 4% increase in the first quarter of 2025, while hot-rolled sheet and strip remained unchanged and cold-rolled sheet and strip experienced a 3% decline.
