In February of this year, US steel shipments were at 6,917,842 net tons, with a decrease of 3.2% compared to the previous month and 4.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, according to data from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
By 2023, US steel producers' shipments decreased by 6.2% compared to the January-February period of 2022, reaching a total of 14,066,112 net tons. During this period, there was a 5% decrease in shipments of corrosion-resistant plates and strip, a 9% decrease in shipments of cold-rolled sheet, and a 10% decrease in shipments of hot-rolled sheet.
