According to data from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), domestic steel production in the Us reached 1 million 747 thousand net tons in the week ending 25 October 2025. The capacity utilization rate was recorded at 76.3%.
In the same week last year, production stood at 1 million 589 thousand net tons, with a capacity utilization rate of 71.6%. These figures indicate a 9.9% year-on-year increase in Us steel production.
Compared with the previous week ending 18 October 2025, production increased by 0.2%. At that time, production was 1 million 744 thousand net tons, and the capacity utilization rate was 76.1%.
As of 25 October 2025, year-to-date adjusted steel production reached 73 million 711 thousand net tons, with an average capacity utilization rate of 77.0%. In the same period last year, production was 71 million 705 thousand net tons, and capacity utilization was 75.8%, reflecting a 2.8% increase year-to-date.
Regional data for the week ending 25 October 2025 show production of 125 thousand net tons in the Northeast, 538 thousand in the Great Lakes, 236 thousand in the Midwest, 785 thousand in the South, and 63 thousand in the West. Total production was 1 million 747 thousand net tons.
