In July 2023, US steel companies imported 119.6 thousand tons of pig iron from Ukraine, a 40.2% increase from the previous month. The supply of raw materials increased by 4.7 times compared to July last year.
American metallurgists consumed 748.4 thousand tons of Ukrainian-made pig iron in January-July, 2.3 times more than the same period last year.
Since the beginning of 2023, Ukrainian pig iron exports to the US have been sharply increased, with the highest volume in March since September 2021. The average monthly volume of shipments in 2022 was 45.85 thousand tons, but this year it is 106.9 thousand tons.
