US slab imports rise in June

USDOC data shows that the US imported 461,400 tons of slab in June, a 103% increase from the previous month and 29% from the previous year.

Brazil was the largest importer, with 280,000 tons, a 120% m-o-m increase and a 160% y-o-y surge.Other major import sources included Mexico, China, and Canada.

The import value reached $376 million, up 112% m-o-m and 141% y-o-y.
