US HRC imports rise in January

In January this year, US imports of hot rolled steel increased by 0.2% on a monthly basis and 33.7% on an annual basis to 83,110 tons.

The value of imports in this period amounted to $59.4 million.

Imports from Canada ranked first

Imports from Canada were around 95,979 tons, Japan around 24,297 tons, South Korea around 22,238 tons, Mexico around 18,015 tons and Brazil around 8,527 tons.
