According to preliminary Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce, the US imported about 152,000 tons of hot rolled and flat rolled products in November last year. Compared to the previous month, there was an increase of 3%, but a decrease of 48%.
Imports from Canada accounted for the largest share, with roughly 72,000 tonnes, down by 23.1% monthly and 18.2% y-o-y. Other important sources of imports include the Netherlands (about 18,000 tons), Japan (about 16,000 tons) and South Korea (about 14,000 tons).
Durin this period ımport value amounted to roughly US$ 128 million, down by 3.7% m-o-m and 67.9% y-o-y.
