U.S. crude steel production sees notable decline in recent figures

As of the week ending April 20, 2024, production stood at approximately 1.72 million net tons, experiencing a 0.6% decrease from the previous week and a 3% decrease from the same week in the previous year.

This period's capacity utilization rate was recorded at 77.3%, showing a slight drop from earlier figures. Moreover, the year-to-date production up to April has decreased by 2.5% to about 26.94 million net tons, with the capacity utilization rate reducing to 76.5%.
