US crude steel production increased on a weekly basis

US crude steel production increased by 1.1% last week to 1.754 million tons, according to data released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). This represents a 0.7% increase compared to the same period last year.

Steelmakers operated at 79.0% capacity during the week.Year-to-date production is decreased by 2.0% to 55.910 million tons compared to the same period last year. Capacity utilization for the year to date is 76.6%.
