In the week ending May 20, the US produced 0.2% more crude steel on a weekly basis and 2.4% less on an annual basis. Total production amounted to 1.73 million net tons.
The capacity utilization rate reached 76.8% in this period, increasing by 0.1% on a weekly basis and decreasing by 4.3% on an annual basis.
As of May 20, year-to-date adjusted crude steel production in the US decreased by 4% y-o-y to 33.62 million net tons, while the capacity utilization rate decreased by 5.5% y-o-y to 75%.
