The US Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) announced weekly crude steel production data. According to these data, in the week ending September 23, there was a 0.1 percent increase compared to the previous week and production reached 1 million 735 thousand tons. Total production increased by 3 percent compared to September 2022.
The decline in production since the beginning of the year was 1.5 percent compared to the same period last year, with total production reaching 65 million 33 thousand tons.
In the week in question, the working capacity of steel producers was recorded as 76.3 percent.
