US crude steel production fell by 1.3% in the week ending August 5, while increasing by 0.4% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 75.9%, down by 1.0% w-o-w and 2.4% y-o-y.
As of August 5, adjusted year-to-date production was around 52.9 million short tons, a 2.2% drop year-on-year and a 4% reduction in capacity utilization rate.
