According to data from the Ukrainian Metallurgical and Steel Industry Association (Ukrmetprom), the country's iron and steel production in the first seven months of 2025 showed varying trends across product categories when compared to the same period in 2024.
Pig iron production increased by 6.7%, rising from 4.089 million tons in 2024 to 4.361 million tons in 2025.
Crude steel production, however, declined by 7%, falling from 4.583 million tons to 4.263 million tons.
In the rolled products category, production dropped by 1.8%, decreasing from 3.728 million tons to 3.662 million tons.
When looking at average daily production figures:
- Pig iron output rose by 7.3%, from 19.2 thousand tons to 20.6 thousand tons per day.
- Steel output fell by 7%, from 21.5 thousand tons to 20.1 thousand tons per day.
- Rolled products output declined by 2.3%, from 17.5 thousand tons to 17.1 thousand tons per day.
