China remains the key supply destination, where 7.06 million tons were exported (-4.3% compared to the 2024 level). Significant volumes were also sent to Slovakia (1.99 million tons, -8.8%) and Poland (1.93 million tons, -5.6%).
The May figures show a further deterioration in dynamics: monthly exports amounted to 2.39 million tons, which is 9.7% less than the April result and 23.4% lower than the May 2024 figures. A particularly sharp decline was recorded in the Chinese direction - 1.05 million tons (-27% compared to April and -15.6% compared to May last year). The only positive exception was Slovakia, where shipments increased by 5.3% compared to the previous month.
The financial results reflect the current situation: revenue from iron ore exports in May reached only $180.9 million (-11.8% compared to April and -24.2% compared to May 2024), and for the five-month period amounted to $1.07 billion (-21.5% compared to the same period last year).
