Steel production increased by 17% compared to March this year and by 24.5% compared to April last year to 714.7 thousand tonnes.
Pig iron production increased by 10.9% compared to the previous month and 10% compared to April last year to 596.9 thousand tonnes.
Rolled metal production increased by 19.6% m-o-m to 584.3 thousand tonnes, up 19.9% compared to April 2023.
April figures indicate an increase in all products. Between January and April 2024, rolled steel production by Ukrainian companies increased by 30.5% y-o-y to 1.97 million tonnes, steel production by 32.8% to 2.4 million tonnes and pig iron by 25.1% to 2.19 million tonnes.
The opening of the sea corridor for cargo ships is expected to boost production performance this year.
