According to a newly published report, the UK lagged behind other European countries in the 'green steel' race, with only one green steel plant planned against 38.
While there are 38 projects for green steel production that have been notified to the EU, as well as 10 plants currently producing green steel, it is seen that the United Kingdom has only one project planned for now.
As a result of the gas crisis, which was affecting especially the USA and the EU, the countries' development of projects to build green industries was an important step towards the future of the whole world.
However, concerns remain about the UK's ability to compete with other countries, as automakers will need to use green steel in electric vehicle production.
