According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Türkiye's wire rod imports in June 2024 decreased by 82.4% y/y, decreasing from 77,661 tons to 13,656 tons. Compared to the previous month, the drop was 78.30%.
Total wire rod imports in the January-June period decreased by 52.6%, falling from 397,545 tons to 188,379 tons.
The top countries from which Türkiye imported wire rod in June were the United Kingdom (4,351 tons), followed by Pakistan (2,404 tons), Germany (1,940 tons), Switzerland (1,383 tons) and Spain (1,363 tons).
