Türkiye's scrap imports increased by 6.6% in January-October period

Türkiye's scrap imports in October 2024 decreased by 1.2% y-o-y and increased by 2% m-o-m.

Türkiye's scrap imports increased by 6.6% in January-October period

According to data collected by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Türkiye's scrap imports in October decreased by 1.2% compared to the same month of the previous year, from 1 million 482 thousand 491 tons to 1 million 465 thousand 83 tons. Compared to the previous month of September, it increased by 2%.

Total scrap imports in the January-October period increased by 6.6% from 13 million 992 thousand 819 tons to 14 million 922 thousand 772 tons.

The USA, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom ranked in the top 3 in scrap imports of Türkiye in the same month. Scrap imports from the USA was 461,682 tons, followed by the Netherlands with 195,637 tons, the United Kingdom with 164,175 tons, Lithuania with 109,449 tons and Romania with 82,574 tons.
