According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Türkiye's rebar imports surged by 124.7% y/y in June 2024, reaching 15,903 tons from 7,077 tons in the same month of the previous year. However, imports decreased by 31.9% compared to the previous month, May.
Total rebar imports for the January-June period increased by 3.6% y/y, rising from 63,129 tons to 65,415 tons.
In June, Portugal emerged as the leading source of rebar imports for Türkiye, supplying 10,089 tons. Following Portugal were Iran with 5,650.7 tons, Canada with 97.3 tons, Germany with 47.4 tons, and Italy with 18.5 tons.
