Türkiye's pig iron imports increased by 107.6% in May

According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Türkiye's pig iron imports in May increased by 107.6% y/y to 233,906 tons from 112,673 tons. It decreased by 7,6% compared to the previous month, April.

Total pig iron imports in January-May period increased by 40% from 666 thousand 897 tons to 933 thousand 506 tons.

Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan ranked in the top 3 in Türkiye's pig iron imports during the month in question. Pig iron imports from Russia amounted to 176,218 tons, followed by Ukraine with 44,160 tons and Kazakhstan with 24,758 tons.
