According to data accessed by SteelRadar from Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), Türkiye's pig iron imports decreased by 1.29% to 1,376,811 tons in 2023 compared to 2022.
In December 2023, pig iron imports reached 98,532 tons, up by 33.34% compared to the same month of 2022, but indicating a 21.8% decrease compared to the previous month.
In 2023, the highest import level was recorded in May with 175,949 tons, while the lowest figure was recorded in June. On the other hand, in the same period of 2022, the highest import figure was 202,757 tons in June, while the lowest was 59,043 tons in October.
