The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) released capacity utilization rate (CUR) data for the manufacturing industry for July 2025. According to the data, the unadjusted CUR decreased by 0.4 points compared to the previous month, decreasing to 74.2% in July.
According to the Economic Trends Survey, which was compiled based on responses from 1,844 companies operating in the manufacturing sector, the seasonally adjusted CUR also decreased by 0.3% points to 74.1%.
The data showed that the capacity utilization rate in the manufacturing industry followed a fluctuating trend in the first seven months of the year. For 2025, the CUR rates were 74.6% in January, 74.5% in February, 74.4% in March, 74.3% in April, 75.0% in May, and 74.6% in June. Finally, in July, the rate decreased to 74.2%.
This decline in capacity utilization is seen as a reflection of the weakening in industrial production and the stagnation in demand conditions. While expectations for a recovery in industrial production remain limited, particularly in the second half of the year, this decline in the CUR indicates a cautious outlook for the sector.
