The session titled “Industrial Decarbonization through Intersectoral Cooperation: Building Türkiye’s Low-Carbon Ecosystem,” organized by the Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters' Associations, was held on March 28, 2026. The session addressed strategies to reduce carbon emissions in industry and highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration.
Speaking at the meeting, Uğur Dalbeler, Vice Chairman of the Turkish Steel Exporters' Association, stated that the decarbonization process presents both significant challenges and new opportunities for the sector. Dalbeler emphasized that maintaining competitiveness is critical during this transition, particularly in light of increasing protectionist measures affecting global trade.
The session also underscored the need to strengthen coordination among industry, government, and international stakeholders in Türkiye’s transition to a low-carbon economy. Participants highlighted the importance of expanding international cooperation to ensure sustainable production and trade.
