According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Türkiye’s iron ore imports in July 2025 decreased by 25.9% compared to the same month of the previous year, falling from 1,263,008 tons to 936,419 tons. Compared to June 2025, imports also decreased by 15.5%.
In the January–July period, Turkey’s total iron ore imports decreased by 14%, from 6,682,656 tons to 5,746,221 tons.
During July, Brazil was Türkiye’s top iron ore supplier with 590,053 tons, followed by Norway with 165,294 tons. This marked the first iron ore import from Norway in three years. The last import from Norway was recorded in 2022, amounting to 49,503 tons.
