Türkiye's automotive production increased in June

The Turkish automotive industry increased its total production by 7.8 percent in June 2025 compared to the same month last year. However, there was a 7.1 percent decline in automobile production.

According to the Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD), total automotive production in June amounted to 107,927 units, while car production stood at 63,918 units. During the same period, the total market expanded by 12% to 122,505 units, and the car market grew by 6.6% to reach 93,676 units.

On the export front, total automotive exports increased by 19.8%, with 90,101 vehicles shipped abroad. However, car exports declined by 3.6% to 49,468 units. In value terms, automotive exports rose by 31.3% y-o-y to USD 3.34 billion, while passenger car exports increased by 23.5% to USD 1.01 billion.

H1 2025 Performance

In the first half of 2025, total automotive production remained in line with the same period of the previous year, amounting to 706,422 units. Passenger car production, however, fell by 5% to 439,101 units. Including tractor production, total output reached 722,309 units.

In the commercial vehicle segment, production rose by 9% in the first half of the year, with light commercial vehicles seeing an 11% increase. In contrast, heavy commercial vehicle production declined by 13%.

The automotive industry's overall capacity utilization rate stood at 67%. By vehicle group, capacity utilization was recorded at 68% for light vehicles, 56% for trucks, 63% for buses and midibuses, and 42% for tractors.
