Turkish automotive industry increased its production and exports before the first quarter of 2023

Automotive Industry Association (OSD) announced the production and export numbers and market data for January and February 2023.

Accordingly, in the first 2 months of the year, total automotive production increased by 14% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 223 thousand 796 units. Automobile production, on the other hand, increased by 23% 134 thousand 474 units. Together with the tractor production, the total production reached 233 thousand 731 units.

In the first 2 months of the year, commercial vehicle production increased by 3% compared to the same period of the previous year. In this period, while production in the heavy commercial vehicle group increased by 48%, the production in the light commercial vehicle group decreased by 1%. During this period, the capacity utilization rate of the automotive industry was 68%. On the basis of vehicle group, capacity utilization rates were 68% in light vehicles (cars + light commercial vehicles), 83% in the truck group, 34% in the bus-midibus group, and 78% in the tractor.
